Approximately 40% of young children in South Africa grow up in conditions of abject poverty due to the socio-economic circumstances of their families. The children raised in such poor families are robbed of an opportunity to realise their potential and being prepared for a brighter future.

It is in this light that BonguLwazi Montessori School seeks to contribute to the quality education foundation and to unlock the potential of children from low-income communities. BonguLwazi Montessori believes that timely and appropriate interventions can reverse the effects of early deprivation and maximise the development of potential.

In 2019, BonguLwazi Montessori School introduced its “Adopt-A-Child” Outreach Programme and adopted 5 children from the neighbouring Tembisa communities (i.e. Ebony Park and Ivory Park).

The number has increased since then and these children have grown to be confident individuals whose journey of transformation has begun. With the Montessori methodology, these children are now able to read and do basic Maths by the time they reach Grade 1 – a new enlightenment for them!

A call to Action

BonguLwazi Montessori is offering a unique opportunity to individuals,
businesses, organisations and/or philanthropists to sponsor a single
child or a group of children.

Donors can make a once-off contribution, partial or full tuition
sponsorship.
